Esther Holmes Lamb was the wife of Benford Lamb. According to the 1920 US Census,the couple resided at that time in Mayfield in Montgomery County.

Mrs. Lamb dies following lengthy illness

Last rites for Mrs. Esther Holmes Lamb, who was 73 years old, were held Sunday, October 9, at 1:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. C. E. Burden officiated, with burial following in the Poplar Creek cemetery. Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lamb died Friday, October 7, at the Tyler Holmes hospital, following a long illness. She was a native of Montgomery County and a member of the Poplar Creek Baptist Church.

She leaves two sons, Percy Lamb, Winona, and J. M. Lamb. Greenwood; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie L. Norwood, Winona; Mrs. Ada Ruth Hendricks, Tampa, Florida; Mrs. Juanita Palmertree, College Park, Maryland; two brothers, T. J. Holmes, Kilmichael, and Monroe Holmes, Greenwood; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Laster and Miss Mary Lamb, Greenwood, and Mrs. Vera Boyd, Sunflower; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were James Boyd, Jack Laster, Vernon Boyd, Sonny Buchanan, Leroy Boyd, and Ellis Beasley,
