Friends and members of the family of J.N. Zumwalt were greatly shocked when it was learned that Mrs. Zumwalt had dropped dead while in the field Friday afternoon of last week. Mrs. Zumwalt had been picking cotton, and at the time was just arising from where she had been sitting on her cottonsack and talking the most pleasant and jovial manner to other members of the family while weighing up their pickings preparatory to quitting for the day. As Mrs. Zumwalt arose, she dropped dead without speaking.
Apparently Mrs. Zumwalt was in the best of health, and her death was a shock to all. Her remains were interred Sunday in the Spur cemetery, the body being held over to await the arrival of other members of the family living at a distance from Spur.
Texas Spur extends sincerest sympathy and condolence to Mr. Zumwalt and other members of the family in this great and unexpected bereavement.
