Services for Mrs. Sue Ware King of Winona, who died at her home Thursday, July 29, after a lengthy illness, were held at the Nations-Poplar Creek Church, at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The Rev. J.M. Palmertree of Kilmichael assisted by Rev. V.H. "Jack" Cross of Carthage officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery, under the direction of Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. King, who was 69, was born in Montgomery County. She was married to W.E. King, Aug. 23, 1905, having been married 51 years 11 months and 5 days at her death.
She leave her husband, W.E. King; two sons, Lawrence King, Winona's chief of police; Walter King of Winona; four daughters, Mrs. Earl Black of Kilmichael; Mrs. T.S. Austin and Mrs. Jimmy Moore of Greenwood and Mrs. M.B. McKinney of Honduras; two brothers, Woody Ware of Mt. Carmel, Ill.; and Jeff Ware of Ruleville; three sisters, Mrs. Delia Sherwood of Drew; Mrs. Allie Pearson of Grenada; Mrs. Gertrude Lush of Greenville; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
