JAMES FRANKLIN ROBERTS James Franklin Roberts, 84, died Sunday October 7, 2007 at Budd Terrace at Wesley Woods following a long illness. He was born December 31, 1922 to the late John Grady Roberts, Sr., and Vannie Mae Astin. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary C. Gantt and brother, John Grady Roberts, Jr. He was a retired radio announcer at WRGA and WROM, Rome, Georgia where he lived for several years. He is survived by sisters, Mildred Fitzgerald, Carolyn Gantt and Opal Hammond. A graveside funeral service will be held at two o'clock P.M. on Thursday, October 11, 2007 in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 from 5-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Atlanta Humane Society, 981 Howell Mill Road NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30318-5512.
