Mr. Edward C. Cummings a 15-year resident of Stockton and former resident of Victor passed away Thursday January 8, 2004, in a Lodi hospital at the age of 79. Mr. Cummings was born April 18, 1925 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Fritz and Perlie Cummings. Mr. Cummings worked as a carpenter in the Lodi and Stockton areas as well as the Bay-Area, for the Local Carpenters Union # 25 of Richmond for many years. He also worked as a machinist for Viking Forge in Richmond where he lived before coming to Victor in 1970. Mr. Cummings owned and operated a cattle ranch in Victor for 20 years prior to moving to Stockton in 1984. He was a United States Navy, WWII and Pearl Harbor Veteran; he was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed attending cattle auctions and garage sales. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Emma Cummings of Stockton, 1 son, Charles Cummings of Cottonwood, 1 daughter, Janice Lee of Oakley, 1 brother, Carl Cummings of Lockeford, 1 sister Lucille Schwartz of Reno, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held. Arrangements are by the Lodi Funeral Home in Lodi, CA.
