Francisco "Frank" Jose Guerrero Jr., 52, of Astoria, died Thursday, November 20, 2003, in Astoria. Mr. Guerrero was born November 3, 1951 in Calexico, California to Francisco and Carmen Valencia Guerrero. He grew up in Thornton, California and received his education there. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1970 and served until 1973. He worked as a truck driver for various companies in California and Oregon for more than 20 years. He and Tammra Rafferty began their life together February 10, 1977. On May 7, 1996, they were married in Reno, Nev. Mr. Guerrero and his family moved to Astoria in September of 1997. Family members said he loved sports, especially baseball and football and was a die-hard Oakland Raiders fan. His family was his whole life, they said. He is survived by his wife, Tammra Guerrero of Astoria, Oregon. In addition to his wife, Mr. Guerrero is survived by three sons; Carlos and daughter-in-law, Molly, Guerrero of Fort Bliss, Texas, Jerry Guerrero of Astoria, Oregon and Frank Guerrero, III of Sacramento; one daughter, who was his baby girl, Yolanda and son-in-law, Charlie, Gaunt of Fort Bliss, Texas; 2 grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Guerrero, Manuel Guerrero, Victor Martinez and Tony Guerrero; sisters, Gloria Bolanas, Linda Martinez, Sandra Goodman and Cecilia Guerrero. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Carmen Guerrero. A Rosary will be held Saturday, December 13, 2003 at 12 noon at Mater Ecclesia Church in Thornton with Deacon Porfi Cisneros officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to his family.
