Leona Rice, of LaGrange, passed away on December 24, 2020. She was born in Pot Ash Ridge, Alabama on February 4, 1925 to the late Hiram Henry Bowen and Naomi Wray Bowen. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life for over 69 years, Loyd Rice; her siblings, Lula Mae Ruckert, Eris Lawson, Rosa Haynes, Janie Anderson, Bill Bowen, Denson Bowen, Buck Lawhorn, Annie Lawhorn, Gordan Lawhorn, and Carlton Lawhorn. Mrs. Rice is survived by her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Mrs. Rice will be remembered for the love she showed to her family and for the tremendous care she showed her garden. She loved spending time caring for her plants and growing food for those she loved.
