Mr. Bowen died Thursday, April 11, at his home.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Bowen was born June 2, 1923, son of Henry and Naomi Bowen. He was a World War II Navy veteran and had worked in the textile industry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Laura Warren Bowen.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Hurley of Roanoke and Harriett Strickland of Panama City, Fla.; two granddaughters; one brother, Bill Bowen of Birmingham; two sisters, Leona Rice and Rosalee Haynes of LaGrange; two half-sisters, Janie Anderson of Helena, Ohio, and Eula Mae Rucker of Roanoke; and four great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke.
