Obituary: In memory of Emma Widdig Bice, daughter of Frederick and Katherine Widdig, was born Apr 9, 1862, in Lawrence Co. Oh. At the age of one year she moved with her parents to Miller's Run where she lived until after the death of her parents. In Sept, 1895, she was united in marriage with John Nelson Bice III at the Lucasville Methodist Church, where she was a member. During their marriage, they spent a period of five years in Texas and about 10 years in Pickaway Co. and Pike Co..
She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs Louis A. McKinley at 3:25 a.m., Apr 12, 1947, at the age of 85 years. Death came from Chronic Myocarditis and after an illness of three weeks resulting from a broken hip three years ago. Her husband preceded her in death Apr 27, 1926. Five brothers and a sister also preceded her in death.
All of her children are living. They are: Mrs Louis A.[Madge]McKinley of Lucasville, Mrs Louis[Maud]Double of Dayton, Oh, Fred of 3883 Stanton Ave. New Boston, Oh., Harold of Lucasville, and Rev. John Nelson (IV) of Bethel, OH. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two brothers, Adam Widdig of 466 Bloom St. Sciotoville, Oh. and Henry Widdig of 2217 Thomas Ave., Portsmouth.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lucasville Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Holmes officiating. The body will remain at McKinley funeral home until the services.
