Virginia McGee Wilkirson, 87, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020.
Private family graveside services will be Saturday, December 26th at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Born September 11, 1933, in Forestburg, Texas, Virginia became the fifth child of the late Vera Mae (Perryman) and Pryor McGee. After graduating from Forestburg High School, Virginia continued her education at Midwestern State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Virginia spent 28 years in WFISD teaching language arts at Barwise Jr High and Zundy Jr High. After retiring, she continued pursuing her passions by teaching adults to read by volunteering with the Wichita Falls Adult Literacy Council. Virginia also remained involved with WFISD by testing students for the Gifted and Talented program. She spent her spare time reading, sewing, and teaching Sunday School. She was an active member at Heritage Assembly of God. Virginia loved the Lord and her family and lived out her faith by demonstrating a constant calming presence, a grace-filled spirit, and a willingness to help anyone that crossed her path.
Along with her parents, Virginia was also preceded in death by her daughter, Elaine Wilkirson McMillan; sisters Jane Griffin and Edna Merle Harvill, and brothers Don, Dale, Mayo, and Jan McGee.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth Wilkirson; her daughters Milea Cuba and husband Mike of Holliday, TX; Karen Collier and husband Scott of Wichita Falls; her grandchildren, Jason Forester and wife Laura, Heather Cooper and husband Ken, Nathan Forester and wife Gena, Mark Cuba and wife Melissa, Mary Cuba, Brady Collier and wife Vanessa, and Amanda Awtrey and husband Kris; fifteen great-grandchildren; her brother Chris McGee and wife Bettie of Collinsville, Ok, and numerous nieces and nephews.
