John was retired from Pennyrile Rural Electric where he was a lineman and dedicated employee for more than 40 years. He was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel and was a former Boy Scout leader who enjoyed spending time outdoors working in his garden. John was a member of Northwest Baptist Church in Hopkinsville and unwavering in his love and commitment to the Lord and love for his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Mae Greenfield Noel (2002); his second wife, Betty Hill Cowan Noel (2018); three brothers, James Noel, Howard Noel, and Noble Noel; and a sister, Ann Noel Guier.
He is survived by three sons, Johnny (Connie) Noel and Billy W. (Brenda) Noel, both of Fairview, and Alan W. Noel of Hopkinsville; two daughters, Brenda (Gerald) Cameron and Belinda (Robert) McCain, both of Hopkinsville; eight grandchildren, Tara, Dewayne, J.W., Mitch, Tiffany, Matthew, Spencer, and Robbie; 14 great-grandchildren, Zane, Callie, Austin, Jacob, Logan, Braley, Sutton, Evalin, Mila, Avrea, Jemma, Kollan, Rayland, and Camden; and two great-great-grandchildren, Adaley and Conor.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020. Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2020, with Bro. Johnny Noel and Bro. Brad Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Trigg County.
