William Swain Davis , was the youngest son of William Preston Davis & Mary Ellen Scalf. He had generally went under his middle name , Swain. Swain had always suffered from ill health & had also suffered from epilepsy. He lived in the care of his mother , Mary Ellen Scalf Davis , the entirety of his life. During the last year of his life in 1937 , he had fallen during a convulsion and fractured his left Fibula & Ankle. The leg had never healed properly & due to his ill health he contracted Septicemia soon afterward. He eventually fell into septic shock and passed away.
