WILMA MEYER DAVIS, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 after a prolonged illness. She was born in El Paso on September 27, 1920. She attended Austin High School and graduated from the College of the Mines in 1942. She was the daughter of Hugo C. and Waldo Meyer of El Paso. Mr. Hugo Meyer was the Superintendent of City Parks for the City of El Paso for more than 30 years. He was known as "The man who made El Paso Bloom." Having planted over 400, 000 trees all over El Paso. She married Thomas Fredrick Davis who preceded her in death. She is survived by her grandson, David Thomas Berry and his wife, Nichole Berry of Shertz, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey Jane, Cassidy Berry and Dillon Berry; two nephews, John W. Frierson, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama and Albert M. Frierson of Fort Myers, Florida and one niece, Lynn F. Kennedy of Birmingham, Alabama. For the most of her adult life, she worked as a school teacher. During her career, she was principal of St. Clement's Episcopal Parrish School in El Paso. She will be buried with her late husband at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held in the McKee Chapel at the Church of St. Clement's on Saturday, October 6th at 11:00 a.m. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Clement's Parrish School in El Paso or your favorite charity. SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN ENTRUSTED TO THE CARE OF KASTER-MAXON & FUTRELL FUNERAL HOME, 8817 Dyer Street.
