Fred died at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the age of 83.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in laws, Joe and Wanda May; brothers, Bill, Tom, Lee: sisters, Bernice Herrington Reed; brothers-in-law, James Taylor, Sr. James Reed, Steve Mull, Floyd Golden, Tommie Luker, David May, Denny Holloway and a sister-in-law, Juanita Herrington.
Fred was one out of 13 kids. He was a very hard working determined person. He was a guard for over 20 years at the Arkansas Department of Correction, delivered gas for Winston’s LP gas, WS Fox Sawmill, JL Williams and Sons Sawmill and owned a groundhog sawmill. He enjoyed working out in his shop and riding or messing with his horses. He was a lifetime member of the Sheridan Riding Club where he spent many hours working and enjoying time with family and friends. He loved working out in his garden, and going hunting or fishing. Anything that had to do with outdoors, he was all for it.
Survivors: wife of 58 years, June May Herrington; daughter, Lynn (Juan) Caple; grandkids, Colton and Cassidy Caple; brothers, George (Myrtle), John (Ann), Hardy (Tabetha); sisters, Ruth (Max) Reed, Donnie Mull, Ethel Golden, Cescel Luker, Ola (Ronnie) Hayes; sisters-in-law, Rita Holloway, Barbara (Steve) Vanlandingham, Margaret Herrington and many nieces, nephews, great and great great and also many extended family and friends.
Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 18, 2020, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Sheridan. There will be no public visitation. Pallbearers are Mike Herrington, Ross Herrington, James Herrington, Donny Holloway, Scott Hayes, and Darrell Luker.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Sheridan Riding Club, c/o Krista Brown, 539 Grant 66, Sheridan, AR 72150, or a church youth group of your choice. He loved helping kids in any way possible.
Due to Covid 19, masks must be worn and social distancing is required.
