CHARLEY MEREDITH AMBROSE, 82, of Duncan, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, in Duncan.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Assembly of God Church in Fletcher, with the Rev. Bennie Grissom officiating. Burial will be in Cement (Okla.) Cemetery under direction of Elgin Funeral Home.
Charley was born May 31, 1925, in Elgin, to Clem Ambrose and Dora Hanks Ambrose. He married Patricia Ambrose on April 7, 1960. Charley loved farming.
Survivors include three daughters, Shelly Green and husband Mike of Broken Arrow, Sherry Wingfield of Rush Springs, and Sheila Null and husband Ronnie of Duncan; a son, Stephen Ambrose and wife Paula of Duncan; a brother, Scotty Ambrose and wife Lucille of Elgin; a sister-in-law, Bessie Ambrose of Fletcher; 11 grandchildren, Dustin Daft of Owasso, Brendon and Landon Daft of Stillwater, Kalee Green of Broken Arrow, Sunshine Wingfield of Rush Springs, Kyle Null and wife Lana of Mustang, Brandon and Whitney Null, and Grant and Jacquelyn Martin, all of Duncan, and Tyler Case of Comanche; and a great-grandchild, Brayden Daft of Owasso.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Dora Ambrose; three brothers, Arthur Denton, Henry Hanks and Clem Leroy; and a sister, Robbie Fesler.
Bearers will be Dustin Daft, Kyle Null, Brandon Null, Brendon Daft, Landon Daft, Tyler Case, Grant Martin and Braden Daft.
Honorary bearers are Zane Britton, Harold Daft, Jessie Hankins, Oscar Sanders, Leon Shepherd, Roy Shorter, August Zeigler and George Wilson.
