Mr. Roy O’Brien, 85, of Troy Center, WI, died Friday, October 4, 1985 of injuries suffered when he was struck by a car while getting his mail in front of his home on Hwy J. Born Nov. 16, 1899 in Troy Center, Mr. O’Brien lived his entire life in the area. On March 9, 1927 he was united in marriage to the former Miss Frances Branfort and made their home on the Branfort family farm at Troy Center. Mr. O’Brien served as a director of the Troy-East Troy Mutual Insurance Company. He was a former side supervisor for the Township of Troy, and a 50 year member of the Troy Center Volunteer Fire Department, currently as an honorary member. Roy O’Brien is survived by his wife Frances; two sons and a daughters-in-law, Robert and Lois of Waterford, and John and Jean of East troy; one daughter and son-in-law June and Howard Schulz of Elkhorn; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 8, 1985 at 1:30 p.m. at the Anderson-Janssen-Molenda Funeral Home with Rev. Carolyn Kuntz officiating. Interment was at the Evergreen Cemetery, Troy Center. Visitation was on Monday evening from 4 until 9 at the funeral home.
