Alma Baugham Doty passed away at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas, NC on December 5, 2020.
She was born in Shelby, NC on September 2, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of Shelby until 2018 when she moved to Gastonia to live with her daughter, Susan and son-in-law, Dean.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Maude Baugham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Doty, as well as her brothers, Pete and Tom Baugham, sister, Betty Washburn and sons-in-law, George Howe, Jr. and Dean Bowen.
She is survived by her daughters, Terry Howe, Susan Bowen, and Gail Oliver (Mike). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Caitlin Oliver, Hannah Oliver (Dustin Causby), Trip Howe (Stephanie) and Leah Cupp (John): and great-grandchildren, Colton, Korie, Blake, Skylar, Max, Kathryn, Mary Claire, Janie, Oates, Harrison and her precious dog, Sadie, who was her constant companion.
A graveside service led by the Rev. Samuel Warner will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Cleveland Memorial Park with visitation at the gravesite.
