Surviving are five children: Paul A. Amick and wife, Melba, of Claysburg, Carol M. Grabill and husband, David, of Newry, Mary C. Cheyney and husband, Bill, of Middleburg, Fla., Sharon L. Weyandt and husband, Randy L., of Claysburg and Betty J. Weatherwalk and husband, Neil, of Claysburg; 12 grandchildren: Frank, Michael and Timothy Walter, Shawna Carter, Roger Crawford, Kristen Holley, Joshua Dylan Weyandt, Jodi Gilmore, Michelle Swartz, Tiffany Westerwelle, Edward Westerwelle and Gail Moody; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Ickes of Queen; and two brothers: Paul Amick in Louisiana and Fred E. Amick of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings: Lois J. Mahon, Shirley E. Amick, Elery W. Amick, Mary Jane Amick, Gladys M. Amick, Ronald Amick and an infant brother, Clarence K. Amick.
Ethel retired from the Allegheny Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg, and had previously worked at Wright Laundry in Hollidaysburgand and Cove Shoe Co. She attended both Claysburg Church of God and Lighthouse Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, word search puzzle books, watching TV and playing bingo.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ethel's memory may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1375 Martin St., Suite 206, State College, PA 16803. Arrangements are by Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring.
