Mexican Actor, Screenwriter, Film Producer and Director. Miguel Contreras Torres began his acting career in 1917 in the film "En la hacienda," sharing the starring role with his future wife, actress Medea de Novara. He was one of the pioneers of Mexican cinema, his filmography is mainly on historical and religious themes. He is known for "¡Viva la soldadera!" (1960), "No matarás" (1935) and "The Mad Empress" (1939).
