"George Lorimer, 89, a former advertising salesman for The Inquirer, died Tuesday at Ocean Point Health Care Center, Somers Point, N.J. He lived in Ocean City, N.J. Mr. Lorimer was employed as a classified advertising salesman at The Inquirer for 40 years before retiring in 1971. He attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania before enlisting in the U.S. Army in World War I. He also was financial secretary for 40 years at the Ashbourne Presbyterian Church in Melrose Park. Survivors: wife, Dorothy, and brother-in-law, Joseph Smith, manager of classified advertising at The Inquirer. Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Northwood Cemetery, Philadelphia."
