Harriet was married 1st to Chandler Robinson. They had five children:

Chandler left Harriet in the late 1850's or early 1860's and took their four older children to OH. Chandler died in Ohio. The three older children were brought back to PA. Polly Madora (Dora) remained in OH, where she lived with a Latham family and later married Phillip W. Krebs. The baby Philena Janette was left with Harriet and raised by Harriet and her 2nd husband, Johann Otten.
Harriet and Johann had two children: Ella and Henry. Ella moved to NY where she died. Henry remained in the Forkston area for most of his life.
