Ramon Julian Grano, 97, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019, at Pioneer Health Care Center.

Ramon was born in Tuloso, New Mexico on February 10, 1922, son of Cecilio and Frances Grano.

Ramon was the widower of Kathryn Grano(Gentry), they were married on March 12, 1959 in Rocky Ford, CO. She preceded him in death in 1971.

Ramon attended St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO.
He served in the U.S. Army in WW II.

Ramon was a farmer/agricultural hand. He worked on tractors, plowing fields, and helped with animal care. Ramon loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He especially enjoyed playing outdoors with his great-great grandchildren and taking them on strolls. Ramon loved spending time outdoors sitting on his porch, chopping wood, and taking care of his garden. He loved going to dances and was known for being an excellent Polka and Waltz dancer. Ramon had a huge heart and would always help anyone in need. He was a very loving man.

He is survived by: Son Antonio Gentry, of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Evangeline Gallegos, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Floyd(Orlinda) Grano, of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Priscilla(Fernando) Delatorres, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Billy(Beverly) Grano, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Margarita Romero, of Las Vegas, NM; Sister Jessie "Susie" Lopez, of Rocky Ford, CO. He has 23 Grandchildren, 52 Great-Grandchildren, and 26 Great-great grandchildren.

Ramon was preceded in death by: his parents, wife, 3 sons: Raymond Grano, Eugene Grano, and Lambert Grano, his grandson Nathan Gallegos, his brothers: Eppifano Grano, Joe Grano, Robert Grano, & Augustine Grano; sisters: Vivianita Grano and Guadalupe Baros.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 24th at Ford - Ustick Funeral Home in Rocky Ford, CO. A Rosary Service will be held 10:30 AM on Friday, October 25th, A Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM both at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. Military services will be conducted by the Rocky Ford American Legion Post #8. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
