Following her marriage to Harold Coleman in 1954, the family grew as children Lonnie, and twins Kent and Kim were born. Jeannie always had time to help others and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend through the years. Many enjoyable Saturday nights were spent playing cards or camping with family, friends and neighbors. After Harold’s death in 1975, Jeannie met and married Ken Hoxeng in March of 1988. Priceless memories were made as Ken and Jeannie enjoyed life together and made many friends as they traveled the country in their camper trailer, as well as taking a number of ocean cruises. Jeannie’s hobbies included quilting, sewing, gardening, raising flowers, cooking, playing cards, traveling and camping. She had a passion for garage sales and loved to find the best bargain. Jeannie passed this passion along to her daughter Kim and they spent many Saturday mornings together treasure hunting. Her greatest joy was her family, following her grandchildren’s activities, and passing on family traditions. Jeannie passed away at the Cherry County Hospital on October 15th, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She will be greatly missed by all.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Nissen, first husband Harold, son Kent, sisters Florence Robinson, Dorothy Mee, Frieda Robinson, Violet Cronk, Phoebe Nissen and brother Johnny Nissen and grandson, Michael Benzing.
