Sherman Spence, 86, of Davisport, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, in the Cabell-Huntington Hospital at Huntington, following a lingering illness.
Born November 7, 1891, at Martin County, he was a son of the late Sam and Uriah Spence. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Spence.
Survivors are two sons, Frank of Davisport, and Wade of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Golda Cisco of Paintsville, Shirley Mullett and Dixie Mullett, both of Davisport; two brothers, Shirl Spence and Sammy Spence, both of Tomahawk; a sister Minnie Mullett of Hanging Rock, Ohio; and 33 grandchildren.
Funeral services took place from the late residence at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30. Burial followed in the Cisco Cemetery at Davisport.
