Eula Cheek Sprowls was born on November 3, 1922 to W.U. Crumm and Polly Newberry-Crumm in Minco, OK. She attended and graduated from Minco Public Schools. In 1943, she married William R. Hancock and to this union they had one daughter Meredith Hancock Beaupre. In 1949, Eula married Bennie C. Cheek and to this union they had two sons Ronald L. Cheek and Gary Carl Cheek. Ben and Eula farmed in the Minco area until his retirement due to health problems. Eula attended Oklahoma City Vocational LPN School from 1970-1971. Upon graduation, she worked part-time at Grady Memorial Hospital until she needed to care for her husband Ben full-time. When Ben was admitted to Eventide Nursing Home in 1974, she worked there until his passing in 1979. In 1980, she married John Ronald Sprowls. Ron and Eula were founding members of Southern Hills Baptist Church where they attended faithfully. Eula taught Sunday School classes, served as church treasurer, and church hostess for many years. She loved serving the Lord and being a servant of the Lord. Eula had a dedicated heart for foreign missions and went on five different medical mission trips, directed by John Wilson of Faith Medical Missions. She faithfully supported foreign missions including missionary evangelists and children's educational ministries for many years. Eula will always be remembered by her family and friends for being a dedicated Christian woman of prayer, who loved the Lord, read her Bible daily, and had a generous heart of giving to the Lord. Her heart's desire was for her family to follow the Lord and serve Him daily. She was truly a Godly example of wisdom and grace, and generosity to all who knew her. Eula will also be fondly remembered for her delicious homemade cooking, excellent seamstress abilities, and her beautiful quilting.
