Joseph was the son of Jacob and Mary (Minnie) Osborn Hockenbury. Joseph had 2 siblings: John Henry (1900-1926) and Louise Gertrude (1901-1920). He married Rose Nebenfuhr on June 23, 1920. They had 4 children: Joseph, Anna, Doris, and Arlene. Joseph served in the Army in WWI.

Joseph B. Hoockenbury

Oldwick - Joseph B. Hockenbury of Cedar Lane Farm died yesterday (July 9, 1961) at his home. He was the husband of Mrs. Rose Nebenfuhr Hockenbury.

Born 63 years ago in Asbury, he had lived in this area all his life. Mr. Hockenbury was a farmer and a communicant of St. Brigid's Church, Peapack. A World War I veteran, he was a member of Somerset Hills Post 216, American Legion.

Besides his widow, Mr. Hockenbury is survived by a son, Joseph Hockenbury, and three daughters, Mrs. Anna Matthews of Clark; Mrs. Doris Van Pelt of Milford, Del.; and Mrs. Arlene O'Dell of Pottersville.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Bailey Funeral Home, Peapack, followed by a Requiem Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Brigid's Church. Burial will be in the Linden Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today and tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m.
