Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away May 6, 2019 at Brian’s House at age 75. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Dawn (Ramsey) Ferrio. Karen graduated from T. L. Handy High School in 1962. She then went to Northeastern Business School and thereafter worked at The Dow Chemical Company, General Hospital, FDIC and finally for 36 years at the firm of Birchler, Fitzhugh, Purtell & Brissette, PLC as Office Manager and Legal Assistant. On August 24, 1963, she married James R. Carlin and they shared their lives together for 55 years. Surviving besides her husband Jim is one son, Jeffrey (Nancy) Carlin; five beloved grandchildren Nicolas and Robert Carlin, Scott Barrow, Jennifer (Nick) Strength, Wendy (Michael) Craig; two sisters, Casey (Mike) Denhoff and Sue Greenleaf, as well as a niece and several nephews. She touched many lives, and will be dearly missed by all she left behind. Her love of antique dolls and other collectibles led her to become a dealer at the Bay Antique Center since 2007. She will miss the many friendships she has made there, and especially longtime friends, Debbie and Paul Wilinski.

Karen’s family would like to thank the staff at Brian’s House for their wonderful care and support.

Karen’s final wishes were, no visiting hours, funeral or memorial service….just simply cremation with burial of her cremains to take place in Pine Grove Cemetery (Williams Twp.). Please help keep Karen’s loving memory alive by a memorial contribution to Brian’s House of (Essexville).
