"The funeral services over the remains of Mrs Ellen Bobbitt, who died yesterday afternoon will be held on Monday at ten thirty (city time) at the Methodist Church, conducted by Rev L L Lloyd of that church. After the funeral services the funeral party and friends will leave by special train for Riffs Crossing (just east of Pence Springs) where the remains will be laid to rest at Riverview Church, near that place.
Mrs Bobbitt (nee Mrs Ellen Ross) was born near Lowell and has been a resident of Monroe and Summers counties all of her life.
When but thirteen years of age she joined the M E Church and has been a consistent member until called from her earthly home. She leaves one brother, J P Ross of Shelbyville Ky, two sons, Capt O L Bobbitt of this city and A A Bobbitt of Adair, Ills. Mr Bobbitt of Ills and Miss Allie Ross of Marshall, Mo will arrive here tomorrow to attend the funeral."

"Mrs Ellen Bobbitt, aged 78 years, mother of Capt O L Bobbitt, of this place, died at her home in Ballengee street, Friday, of heart failure. Mrs Bobbitt was an excellent old lady beloved by all who knew her. She was born and reared near Lowell and her maiden name was Ross. She leaves two sons, Capt O L Bobbitt, of this place, and Mr A A Bobbitt of Adair, Ill. Mr Bobbitt came from Illinois, accompanied by Miss Allie Ross, of Marshall, Mo, to attend the funeral. Her remains were buried at River View church, near Pence Spring."
