The daughter of Alexandra and Frances (Brown) Gilson.

The St. John's United Church of Christ on John Street, Bedford, Pennsylvania is presently the name of the original German Reformed Church. At one time Alexander Gilson and some of his belated loved ones were buried in the German Reformed Cemetery. But when the St. John's United Church of Christ expanded over the years, some parts of the original cemetery were destroyed for more additions to be added to the church building. Some of the deceased in the original cemetery were moved to other cemeteries in Bedford. Some of the deceased within the cemetery were even moved to the Bedford Cemetery. An inquiry was made to the Bedford Cemetery on what records were available. The Bedford cemetery is currently charging a fee to research their records. The records are also in the process in transition of being moved from one caretaker to a new caretaker.
The St. John's United Church of Christ has a small section of headstones in the back section of the land. But there was research done where in the grassy section of the one side of the church, and the back grassy section of the church on where the deceased still are laid to rest in the original section of the cemetery for the German Reformed Church. A map is available to view on who was originally laid to rest in the cemetery. There is a church book listing additional information on the beginning stages of the German Reformed Church, the cemetery, and the removal of certain graves. In the book is additional information on the events over time on the progression of the church, and other interesting history facts about the church and the people.
On the copy of the existing map of the German Reformed Cemetery, there are several Gilson's listed buried at one time in the cemetery.
