Nellie Feliz
Mrs. Nellie Feliz, widow of Frederick P. Feliz who died March 28. followed her husband in death yesterday. She died at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Laura Collins of Salinas, following a brief Illness.
Mrs. Feliz. who was 85 at the time of her death, was born near Salinas March 2, 1872. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs, Joseph Steffani.
Mrs. Feliz received her early schooling in the Natividad dis-trict near Salinas and later moved to the Carmel Valley where her parents operated a cattle ranch.
Married Teacher
She met her husband in Carmel Valley where he was teaching school. Mr. Feliz later went on to become a prominent Monterey and Salinas attorney. The couple was married for 66 years and had lived most of this time in Salinas before his retirement to the Carmel Valley. Their home after that time was at Camp Steffani. Mrs Feliz is survived by one son. Joseph P. Feliz of Salinas; four daughters. Mrs. Harriet Call of Mariposa. Mrs. Nell Grout, Mrs. Adele Eklund and Mrs. Laura Collins, all of Salinas; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs, Feliz also was the mother of the late Frederick P. and Ralph Feliz.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Muller Mortuary in Salinas at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by burial in the Garden of Memories.
