Trierweiler, Helen, (nee Partridge), devoted wife of the late Bernard Trierweiler, loving mother of Susan (William) Lennertz, Todd (Kathy Letner) Trierweiler, Donna (Dr. James) McCoy, Mark Trierweiler, Patricia (Brien) Griffin, cherished grandmother of Corey (Rhonda) Griffin, Cheryl (Sean) Trimpe, Laura Griffin, Nathan McCoy, Colleen McCoy, Mateo Lennertz. Cherished great grandmother of Elijah, Evelyn, and Estelle Trimpe. Dear sister of Ruth (the late Dr. Stanley) Keller, the late Robert (Carolyn, living) Partridge, Dorothy (Fred) Weber, Betty (Raymond, living) Brueggemeyer, Dr. Milton (Joy, living) Partridge, and Mary Ann (Howard) Osterkamp. Dear "Aunt Sis" of many nieces and nephews. Passed away early Saturday morning, April 18, 2020 at the age of 94. Services were held private for family. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date. Remembrances may be made to St. Teresa Education Fund, 1175 Overlook Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45238 or the Covedale Theater at Cincinnati Landmark Productions 4990 Glenway Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45238 www.meyergeiser.com.
Helen was a parishioner of St. Teresa of Avila from childhood on and was deeply devoted to her faith. She prayed the Rosary every day. She took the very essence of Christ's teachings of love and compassion and lived that daily.
Helen married Bernard in 1948 meeting him after he returned from the war in Europe. She was close to finishing her college degree at the College of Mount St. Joseph when they married. After having five children, she went back to college and finished her degree at Xavier University and then taught grade school at St. Teresa of Avila for 25 years. When she retired, the City of Cincinnati proclaimed May 24,1992 as Helen Trierweiler Day where she was honored for her service. Over the years, there were countless times when former students acknowledged her at restaurants and other public events, coming over to say, "Mrs. Trierweiler! Do you remember me? You taught me in the 5th grade way back in the 1960's" [or 70s, or 80s].
Throughout her retired years, Helen continued to make many friends with the Dunham Seniors Group, and at Regency Ridge Condos where she and Bernard moved from their Kellywood Ave. home in 1995. She was a dedicated board member, enjoyed various other volunteer positions, and was an avid walker at the condo property.
Helen greatly enjoyed traveling; embarking on many cruises, traveling throughout the US, including Alaska and Hawaii, and throughout most of Europe. She was an audience mainstay as a season ticket holder at the old Showboat Majestic, and then the renewed Covedale Theater, in addition to her love of attending performances at Music Hall and the Aronoff.
Helen Trierweiler was loved by everyone who knew her. And she loved them in return. By her example, she taught all to love unconditionally. Her entire life was like a warm ray of loving sunshine on virtually every person who ever had the good fortune of knowing her or even being in her presence. Her children are the most blest of all. Helen leaves a legacy of strength, devotion, compassion, and generosity.
