James honorably served his country in WWII in the United States Army and also in the United States Air Force for 20 years, during which he served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He enjoyed winning checker games, working in his yard, being outdoors, playing cards, and watching old Western Movies.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey David (Tammy, companion) Camille of Lafayette; two daughters, Tonya Josephine (Stan) Lancon of St. Martinville, and Mona Ann (Bobby) Bienski of Fort Worth, TX; eight Grandchildren, Jace Camille, Barrett Lancon, Jenna Camille, Lindi Kostelnik, Camille Bourgeois, Lori Vaughn, Christy Veale, and Ashley Bienski.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Vernice Camille; parents, Henry and Elvina Camille; brothers, Wilson, Johnny and Walter Camille; two sisters, Essie Barras, and Elsie Latiolais; two Grandchildren, Catrice Lancon and Robert Bienski.
