Harry "Roger" Testrake, of Ripley, N.Y., went to his dear Lord on September 24, 2013 at the VA Hospital Hospice in Erie, Pa. with his loving family at his bedside. He was born on August 25, 1930 to the late Frank and Mildred (Koefed) Testrake.

Roger received his education in the Ripley School System and graduated from Park University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

Roger was an Air Force veteran from the Korean War and was one of the founders of the Veteran Memorial Park built in Ripley, N.Y. He was also a member of the American Legion Post and the Veterans of Korea Group.

In 1954, Roger married the love of his life, Margaret (Blair) Testrake. After working in several locations in the U.S. and the world, they returned to their hometown of Ripley, N.Y. to raise their family and became very involved in community affairs. He was a member of St. Gregory Church in North East, Pa., Ripley Senior Citizens Group, and a Friend of the Library.

Besides his wife, Marge, Roger is survived by daughters, Teresa Testrake and her fiancé', Ray Rosario, and Virginia Testrake, both of Ripley, N.Y.; and sons, Steven (Debbie) Testrake of Escondido, Calif. and James Testrake and Martha Bunce of Olean, N.Y. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Rebecca Testrake of Pasadena, Calif., Eric (Morgan) Testrake of Colorado Springs, Colo., Cpl. Joseph DiBuono of Jacksonville, N.C., Gina DiBuono and Nicholas DiBuono of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., Zachary Mota of Ripley, N.Y., Kathryn Testrake and Claire Testrake of Escondido, Calif.; his brother, Richard (Peggy) Testrake of Erie, Pa.; and his beloved cousin, Dr. Lucille (Koefed) Sheedy; as well as his much-loved nieces, nephews and many friends who also survive him.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John L. Testrake and sister, Faith Testrake.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory's Church, 48 South Pearl, North East, Pa. with the Reverend Thomas Brooks officiating. Please assemble at the church prior to 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Roger's celebration of life and may call at the Mathews Funeral Home, 104 West Main Street, Ripley, N.Y. on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

The family gratefully requests that donations be made to the Ripley Hose Company, Friends of the Ripley Library and/or the Ripley Veteran Roll of Honors Memorial, c/o Francis Joint, 9 South State St., Ripley, N.Y. in Roger's memory.
