Peacefully at his home in Kinkora on Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, of Ambrose (Amby) McCarville, aged 88 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Born on Dec. 7, 1920, he was a son of the late Richard and Josephine McCarville. Beloved husband of Irene (Greenan) McCarville. Loving father of Clarence (Maxine) of Shamrock, Arlene of Borden-Carleton, Barry (Ellen) of Shamrock, Clair (Kathy) of Alberta, Maureen (Dean) of Cornwall, and Randy (Shelley) of Freetown. Also survived by a son-in-law, David Warren, Kinkora. Loving grandfather of 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Survived by sister, Marion (Jack) McKenna, Crapaud. Predeceased by daughter, Nora Warren, son-in-law, Chris MacCormack, and great-grandchildren, Maggie, Madison and MacKenzie Keough, brothers, Joseph, Aneas and Peter, and a sister, Ina Duffy. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora. Visiting hours Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Thursday, Aug. 20 at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora, with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the parish cemetery. Donations in Amby’s memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or a charity of your choice. Comrades of Royal Canadian Legion, Borden-Carleton Branch #10 will hold a service of Remembrance at the Funeral Home Wednesday, Aug. 19 at 6:30 p.m.
