Born March 28, 1773, and baptized April 4, Catharine Laidlie was the third child of Maria Hoffman and Archibald Laidlie, and the only child to marry and have children of her own.

"Married, at the Mayor's, on Saturday evening, by the Rev. Dr. Linn, Anthony Dey, Esq., to Miss Catharine Laidlie, daughter of the Rev. Dr. Laidlie, late of this city, deceased." From: "New-York Gazette" New York, New York, February 23, 1800.

Funeral from her late residance, at half past one o'clock, without further invitation. Relatives and friends, taking the 10:40 train, Hudson River Railroad, at Thirtieth street, will find carriages awaiting at the Peekskill station."
