Martha J. Becker, 69, of Tipton, passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at her home in Tipton.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all who plan to attend the visitation and services are asked to wear a mask and exercise social distancing within groups.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 27, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. A memorial fund has been established in her name. All cards and memorials are to be mailed to: Abe Schlabach, 703 Lemon Street, Tipton, Iowa 52772.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at Noon, Tuesday, October 27, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Burial will be in the Red Oak Cemetery, rural Tipton, Iowa.

Martha Jean Tenley was born March 3, 1951, in Stanwood, the daughter of Howard and Mildred (Horne) Tenley, the youngest of 12 children. She graduated from Stanwood Lincoln High School with the Class of 1969. She married Michael Allen Harden on November 21, 1969, at the First United Methodist Church in Tipton. They were the parents of three children, Kelly Jo, Anthony and Timothy. Martha and Michael were later divorced. She married David Edward Becker on August 8, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were the parents of a son, Blake. David preceded her in death on September 17, 1995. She was employed with Rockwell-Collins, Cedar Rapids, in the warehouse department for 29 years, until retiring in 2018. Known as, "Grandma Market", she enjoyed the company of her family and grandchildren, family gatherings, birthday parties, holiday celebrations, dining out at various cafes and restaurants with her companion, Abe Schlabach, and enjoying holiday meals with family at Gwen’s Café in Lisbon.

Surviving are three sons, Anthony Harden and Blake (Tomeka) Becker, both of Tipton and Timothy (Jennifer) Harden of Solon; five grandchildren, Rylee Becker, Layne Harden, Deacon Harden, Aria Becker and Knox Becker; four sisters, Joyce Wagner of Stanwood, Mary (James) Clark of Clarence, Linda (Richard) Walshire of Topeka, KS, and Wanda (Gordon) Farrington of Mechanicsville; three brothers, Richard Tenley of Mechanicsville, John (Karen) Tenley of North Liberty and Dale (Donna) Tenley of Wheatland; two sisters-in-law, Doris Tenley of Stanwood and Marla Tenley of Tipton; her companion, Abe Schlabach of Tipton; and her former husband, Michael Harden of Tipton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Kelly Jo Harden, one sister, Della Tenley, three brothers, Dean Tenley, Roger Tenley and Stephen Tenley, one sister-in-law, Leora Tenley and one brother-in-law, Leland Wagner.
