Family lore is that Pleasant Elbert Hutchings my g grandfather traveled the area with his ventriliquist show of Punch and Judy. I have seen the trunk and located the window of the show in a museum....His oldest son would travel ahead of him and post signs telling of the arrival of the show in that area...Pleasant's father was killed in a freighter accident when Pleasant was less than one year old. The family came to Taney Co Mo from White Co Tn in the 1850's and established a home near Protem Mo..Many of the male children went to Creek Co Oklahoma and perhaps he went to live with them.. Pleasant served on the jury in Taney Co Mo and his diary stated that he would never do that again, apparently due to the threats on his or his family's life.......Pleasant and Arbelle Williams Hutchings had a family of 13, with 12 living to adulthood. I would enjoy any email with more known stories about him and with his name in the subject line..
