I originally created this family of records on 8 July 2001. They were famous at one time and that's when my "created by Tom DeNardo, was replaced with " maintained by findagrave."

This is the headstone for John Marshall Clemens, Mark Twain's father, who died in 1847 in Hannibal, MO. He is now interred at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal. Originally he was buried at Old Baptist Cemetery but was moved to Mt. Olivet in 1876. The large stone lying over his grave was the original headstone used at Old Baptist. He is buried alongside his wife Jane, son Henry, son Orion, and daughter-in-law Mary. Mark Twain (Sam Clemens) is buried in Elmyra, NY with his wife and children
