Jessie Arthur Bennett, 62, who had been living here with his daughter, Mrs. Ollie Hacker, Bruner Courts, died Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the Veterans Hospital, Cold Springs Road, Indianapolis. He had suffered a heart attack.
The remains were returned here to the Greene and Harrell chapel where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.(CST) with Rev. W. C. Chafin officiating. Interment will be in the Payne cemetery. Rev. and Mrs. C. G. Bohannon will have charge of the musical part of the rites. Pallbearers will be Ivan Keene, Doyle Hammond, Dollie Hettle, J. W. Dodson, William Fleetwood and Tom Elgar.
Flower girls will be Joan Bennett, Evelyn Bennett, Genevieve Bennett, Pauline Bennett, Judy Corbin, Carol Hill, and Joyce Denney.
Mr. Bennett , who was a former stone carver for the Indiana Limestone Company, was born in Georgia and had come to Indiana from that state several years ago to take employment in the limestone industry. He had served in World War I.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ollie Hacker, and the Misses Betty Lou, Catherine, and Martha Ann Bennett, all of Bloomington; five sons, William Arthur, Van, Thomas Lee, Donald Ray, and Charles Edward, all of this county; a sister, Mrs. Callie Camp, Tate, Georgia; three brothers, N.J. Bennet of Bedford, R.E. Bennet of Riverdale, Ga., and Twiggs Bennett of Amitta, La.
