Surviving are her daughters, Shelley (Kevin) Hess of Lawrenceville, GA and Stephanie (Randi Messick) Blake of Elkhart, IN; six grandchildren, Lindsey (Jeramy) Mahfet, Amanda (Enrique) Hernandez, Ashley Blake, Amber (Jonathan Hutson) Blake, Alexis Blake and Evan Hess; four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Colson, Jonathan and Macey; sister, Judy Parker of Mishawaka, IN; and brother, Tom (Sandy) Banghart of Crawfordsville, FL. IN addition to her husband and parents, Sandra is preceded by her sister, Diane DeCloedt; and brother, Denny Banghart.
Sandra graduated from Mishawaka High School. After graduation, she attended James Beauty College where she studied cosmetology. Sandra worked as a hairdresser for many years where she was passionate about color. She also was a sales representative for Clairol, which gave her a great sense of fulfillment. Sandra enjoyed cooking elaborate multi-course meals for her family and friends, decorating her home, and working on various arts and crafts projects. She loved watching “Dinner and Book”, being on the water and boating, and tailgating at Notre Dame football games. Sandra volunteered her time at Logan Center. She avidly read scriptures and listened to her favorite Christian music.
Sandra will be laid to rest privately at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Palmer Funeral Homes-Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
