A graveside service for Elaine Chappel has been scheduled for 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park. She will be laid to rest in the Garden of Hope.

Elaine passed away October 10, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. She was born June 4, 1935 "on the Brazos River" in Texas to John and Jenny (Roundtree) Murrell. She was 85 years of age.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory four devoted children, Dane Hollis and wife Trish, Bobby W. Hollis and wife Belinda, Von Hollis and wife Linda, and Rhonda Thomas and husband James; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, James Murrell and wife Kay; one niece, Shirley; and a number of other extended family and dear friends.

Elaine loved to work in the yard. When she turned 80, she was still doing her own mowing. She was proud to design the home that she and her daughter lived in. Her work was a reflection of her own personal beauty. The most important thing to her, though, was her children and she was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother.

Arrangements are under the care of Laurel Oaks Funeral Home located at 12649 Lake June Rd., Mesquite, Texas 75160. Memorial contributions may be made in Elaine's honor to Pleasant Oaks Baptist Church 412 N. Masters Dr., Dallas, Texas 75217.
