Clifford Rutledge, Jr., 67, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020, in a local hospital.
He was a 1970 graduate of Howard High School. He retired from U.S. Pipe after 30 years of service. Clifford was of the Apostolic faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lillie Rutledge, Sr.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Phyllis Rutledge; sons, Donquan Rutledge, Clifford Rutledge, III, and Garland Rutledge; daughter, Laura (Jeremy) Suggs; grandchildren, Quintalis and Jayden Rutledge, all of Chattanooga; brother, Curtis Rutledge of Akron, OH; sisters, Geraldine King, Gwendolyn Rutledge, Deborah Brewster, and Lisa Silvers, all of Chattanooga; special cousin, Frances Jones; and a host of aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Clifford will lie in state on Friday, Oct. 23, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
The family services will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel with Apostle Samuel Gray as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
