FORMER PHILLIPS RESIDENT DIES

Henry Arnett, 76, a former resident of Phillips, died Saturday at a hospital in Lincoln. He had been making his home at Kearney.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Higby Mortuary in Aurora by the Rev. Hervey Porter of the Phillips Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Wood River Cemetery.

Mr. Arnett was born to Charles L. and Nancy Arnett Dec. 15, 1885, at Springview, Mo. In 1902, he came to Phillips community with his parents. On Jan. 4, 1906 he was married to Phoebe Clemons. They made their home in the Phillips community until 1914 when they moved to Sherman County. In 1941, they moved to California. Mrs. Arnett died Dec. 25, 1943, and Mr. Arnett later returned to Kearney to make his home.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. LeNora Bartusiak, Lincoln, Mrs. Marie Dickerson, Santa Ana, Calif., Mrs. Vera Clancy, Fairborn, Ohio, Mrs. Frances Allen, Yuzaldi, Texas, and Mrs. Maxine McGonagil, Riverton, Wyo.; two brothers, Walter of San Fernando, Calif., and Roy of Phillips; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Preis, Omaha; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
