Anton Stecker was born in Asmushausen, Germany, on March the 5th, 1854, died Dec. 21 age eighty years, nine months and sixteen days, at the home of his son, Kasper Stecker, at Skedee.

He came to America at fourteen years of age.

In the year 1873 he was united in marriage to Emma Daetweiler, to this union were born eight children. His wife and two daughters (Mrs. Martha Tracy and Mrs. Lena Swagerty) preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his going six sons, Henry, John, and Kasper, Skedee, Okla., Fred and William of Bristow, Okla., and Andy of Clovis, New Mexico. Also a host of other relatives and friends. Grandpa Stecker was taken into the Evangelical church when a young man. Later he was converted and joined the M. E. church of which he remained a faithful member until his death. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. His terrible suffering, was borne so patiently as to glorify his Saviour.
