Lena was the youngst of 8 children (2 girls and 6 boys) born to Anton Stecker, b. Germany and Emma Daetweiler, Switzerland.

She came to New Mexico in 1906.

She married Jesse J. Swagerty in 1910.

She was preceded in death by a sister in 1917 and her mother in 1924.

She is survived by father; husband; 5 children: Ancil, Louise, Jesse, Jr., Billie and baby Jerry.

She is also survived by her brothers; 5 of whom attended the funeral: A.L., Clovis, NM; John, Bristow, OK; Henry, Casper and Fred, all of Skedee, OK. Her brother, William was not in attendance.
