Lloyd Noyes

PRICE – Our loving father, grandfather, uncle, beloved friend to many, Lloyd David Noyes, 95, passed away October 5, 2020, at the Heirloom Inn in Price.

He was born May 11, 1925, in Wellington, Utah to Howard Spencer Noyes and Clarissa May Woolsey Noyes.

He first met his sweetheart, Hope Grace Mortensen, in school in Price, and they corresponded with each other while he served in the Marine Corps in the Pacific. After returning from the service, they were married in Price, Utah, on March 2, 1946. On February 23, 1952, they were sealed in the Manti Temple.

Lloyd loved people and gave much of his time to anyone in need. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers. He also took his children and grandchildren fishing and camping on occasion. But he loved church service and serving his Savior. He served in many positions in Price, the last of which was stake patriarch. At the temple, he and Hope served for 12 years, the last few years as a sealer. They made many near and dear friends while serving in the Manti Temple.

He took pride in and was grateful for having the privilege of serving his country in the Marine Corps in World War II in the Pacific. He could talk for hours of his experiences in the war. A few years ago, he recorded his life's history, including many detailed descriptions of his war years.

Lloyd is survived by two daughters and one son, Peggy Young, Wellington, David (Janet) Noyes, Price, Brenda (Mark) Dube, Clarksville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Jensen, Cleveland, Utah.

Lloyd is the youngest and last of his generation to pass. He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters and five brothers, Nelda, Ada, Walt, Edna, Fred, Jim, Ben, and Sylvester; son, Gary Lloyd Noyes; and four grandchildren, Troy Young, Tyson David Noyes, Kimberlee Ann Noyes and Jason Gary Noyes.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Heirloom Inn staff and residents, Symbii staff and especially his nurse Michaela, who have all been so loving and kind. They have laughed with him and cried as well.

Funeral service, Friday, October 9, 2020, 11:00 a.m., Price Sixth Ward Chapel. Family will receive friends at the church Thursday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral
