H.W. Burrus was born Oct. 1, 1902 in Sac City, Iowa, son of Shelby N. and Ida Mae Transue Burrus. He married Nova Ruth Evans on Oct. 28, 1942 and she survives.

Mr. Burrus died Saturday at Bothwell Hospital, aged 74 years. He is survived by two sons, Bill and James Dean Burrus, three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Winebrenner, Mrs. Shirley Bull and Mrs. Judy Hoover, and one brother, Elvy Burrus. - Sedalia Democrat - Sunday, Feb. 13, 1977 pg.4
