Born in North Strabane township on September 2, 1877, the deceased had lived in this section all her life. Her husband, Albert Smith, died several years ago.
She is survived by two brothers, Jerry Burgess of Washington and William Burgess of Canonsburg, and a sister, Mrs. Martha Sherrow of Canonsburg, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Payne A. M. E. church in charge of her pastor, the Rev. J. M. Williams. The body will be at the Speakman funeral home in Houston prior to the services where it may be viewed by friends. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 1:30 o'clock.
