Obituary from Post Register (Idaho Falls, ID) - January 17, 1980:
SALT LAKE CITY - Lynn E. Hanks, 61, retired Greyhound Bus driver and former resident of Shelley, died in his home in Salt Lake City Wednesday from cancer.
He was born January 12, 1919 in Shelley, the son of E. Frank and Leah Jensen Hanks. He attended Shelley schools and lived there until 1946.
He was married to Barbara Fillmore of Pocatello. They were later divorced.
He then married Rosemary Bateman of Idaho Falls in April 1947. They moved to Salt Lake City, where he drove the Greyhound Bus from Salt Lake City to Idaho Falls. He retired one year ago due to ill health.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his widow, Rosemary of Salt Lake City; three sons, Dennis of Merced, California, Ronnie of Costa Mesa, California, and Scott of Salt Lake City; one daughter, Margaret Ann of California; three brothers, Victor F. Hanks of Idaho Falls, Grant E Hanks of Phoenix, Arizona, and W. Reed Hanks of New York City; five sisters, Mrs. Mildred Kershaw and Mrs. Dorothy Adams, both of Blackfoot, Mrs. Lucille Heslington of Provo, Utah, Mrs. Viola Hemming and Mrs. Barbara Arave, both of Idaho Falls.
Services will be held at noon Monday at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 23rd E. in Salt Lake City. Burial will take place in Salt Lake City.
