He was raised and attended schools in Beresford. Glenn married Marlene Welch December 30, 1951 in Beresford before leaving for the US Army where he fought in the Korean War; following his honorable discharge he returned to South Dakota. Glenn started farming in 1954 and retired in 1997. He and Marlene moved to Ashland, Montana to be by their son, Tom, then moved to Hermosa, SD where Glenn worked as a handy man and carpenter. He and Marlene enjoyed walking, riding their horses and 4-wheelers on the trails. In 2007 Glenn & Marlene moved back to Beresford to be with family. Glenn was well known at Bethesda Nursing Home and by his family for his yodeling. Glenn loved to go dancing with Marlene, and also enjoyed golfing with the "Thursday golf crew".
Grateful for sharing in his life is his wife of 68 years, Marlene of Beresford; two sons, Milo (Angie) Twedt of Beresford and Tom (Wendy) of Ashland, MT; three grandchildren, Jason (Bridget) Twedt of Beresford, Jenny (John) Hauck of Beresford and Deanna Twedt of Ashland; five great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Taten, Jade, Ethan and Addysen; and his brother, Doug (Ardis) Twedt of Bayfield, CO.
He was preceded in death by his son, David; his parents, two brothers, Merle Twedt and Russell Twedt and two sisters, Fern Thormodsgaard and Ardis Edman.
Memorial services will be 7:00PM Monday, September 21, 2020 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford, SD with visitation one hour prior to the service.
